I attended the preview to Four Saints in Three Acts on Thursday evening, Aug 18th. I like what the Ensemble Parallele did with Four Saints. It was probably as good as could be done. The major characters could be identified, a lot of lyrics could be heard and the plot could be followed about as much as was intended, and I liked the music. I think A Heavenly Act in its current form should never be performed again. Whatever was being sung was completely unintelligible, since all performers on the stage wore the same costume, it was impossible to tell them apart and if there was a plot it was completely unknown to the audience. The projections indicate that Kalup Linzy is egotistical, and self absorbed. And in general if a man is going to have his picture taken in his birthday suit, he should have a well developed muscular body, e.g. abs of steel. Otherwise let's see him in an Armani suit.
