Berman means a lot to me. I had a photocopy of one of his transistor radios on my wall for years. I do love the idea of Motown as a hypermodern trance music. It’s easy to lose that idea amongst all the turgid tributes of the last few months. Terry Riley was a Motown fiend as well; Brian Eno adores doowop.

Great to see your mention of Wallace Berman.
I was delighted with your reference to Tosh Berman’s memory of “Baby Love” trance music.
I’ve just found you , and read your Bruce Conner entry, another artist who continues to resonate.
