ha, Lina - true that! course i want to say that the paintings are more "real" than postcards, but as Suzanne points out, you could say the same for screening WF vs TV...
(& it's not fair for me to expect a blog to cover everything all at the same time -- sorry for the b/itchy fingers)

Hi, I'm glad you found the blog! We're not just about film, but yep, we did have a month-long discussion about Fassbinder's Berlin Alexanderplatz. Yes, you can get it on Netflix, but the experience of course isn't the same as seeing it on the big screen; likewise, although it was made for television, I believe Fassbinder also always intended it to be screened in theater. Screening the film over a period of a month allowed us a unique opportunity to try out a way of discussing things that happen in the museum; we'll be talking about Frida in months upcoming as well, so please check back! In the meantime, if you're looking for some SFMOMA Frida-related online info & content, you could check out our latest podcast.

Hi there-
Just came across the blog and am wondering is this just for movies? I know Fassbinder is great, but isn't it a TV miniseries that you can get on Netflix? Is there anything about what's going on in the galleries? Sorry to be the loca latina but I guess I am wondering if there will be also a panel of experts to discuss the most important female artist of the last century, or will Frida just get PR photos of the opening?
looking forward to hearing more--
